My Domestic Goddesses series began when I picked up an old industrial iron in an old garment business in Baltimore. It sat in my studio for years. I kept looking at it wondering why I couldn't throw it away. It was heavy and dark and had a rather foreboding look. Then one day it hit me - an iron maiden. The ranks of Domestic Goddesses have been growing ever since. These one-of-a-kind pieces combine household items with hand built ceramic frames and hand embroidery.
